News • 22nd June 2008, Sunday

On 22 June, Sunday – Our Resident Master attended the National Maha Sanghika Dana organized by the Young Buddhist Association as a representative of Vajrayana Buddhism.  This year event was held in Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) from 7.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

The purpose of this event is to explain to us that in Buddhism, Maha Sanghika Dana is an act of providing alms-food to a group of homeless ordained people who have renounced the world; which called Sangha to strive for Peace and Enlightenment through Buddha’s teaching.  It is considered to be a very meritorious action and therefore according to the Scriptures, one will accrue good results such as long life, beauty, happiness, strength and wisdom

Birthday of Resident Master
• 1st June 2008

An auspicious day is that to be remembered by all devotees and disciples of Karma Norbuling Buddhist Centre.  On the birthday of our Resident Master, we celebrated in a more traditional manner where Body, Speech and Mind were offered with the assistance of lamas and chanting was performed in a more meaningful manner too. The birthday ceremony made us realize impermanence, our relationship with our Guru and the importance of our Guru of which we should greatly appreciate dharma our Guru imparted to us.
