Fire Puja • 31st.Dec.2009 - 2nd.Jan.2010
The full name of the Medicine Buddha is Bhaishajyaguru Vaiduryaprabha. His left hand is in the meditation mudra, resting in his lap and holding a begging bowl filled with medicinal nectar and fruits. His right hand rest upon his knee with the palm facing outward in the mudra of granting blessings and holds a stem of a Myrobalan plant, renowned as the king among medicines.
The most distinctive feature of this Medicine Buddha is his colour, the deep blue of lapis lazuli. His Eastern pure land has a lot of similarities with the Western Paradise of Amitabha, and rebirth there is said to be as conducive to enlightenment as is rebirth in Amitabha Buddha's western pure land of Sukhavati. Recitation of his mantra or even the mere repetition of his holy name, is said to be sufficient to grant release from the lower realms, protection from worldly dangers and freedom from untimely death.
The Mantra of Medicine Buddha is:
TAYATHA OM BEKANZE BEKANZE MAHA BEKANZE RAZA SAMUDGATE SOHA
Chanting of this mantra and visualizing the Medicine Buddha with devotion, faith and confidence has indeed proven to bring benefits and relieve sufferings to sentient beings.

On 22 June, Sunday – Our Resident Master attended the National Maha Sanghika Dana organized by the Young Buddhist Association as a representative of Vajrayana Buddhism. This year event was held in Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) from 7.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
The purpose of this event is to explain to us that in Buddhism, Maha Sanghika Dana is an act of providing alms-food to a group of homeless ordained people who have renounced the world; which called Sangha to strive for Peace and Enlightenment through Buddha’s teaching. It is considered to be a very meritorious action and therefore according to the Scriptures, one will accrue good results such as long life, beauty, happiness, strength and wisdom
